I am sorry but I do not see the problem. Use OHGEO or HGREOM to put the 2 images on identical coordinate projections. Then STARS to make a "star" at the desired coordinate. Then one of the contour tasks to make a grey scale of one image and contour of the other and to plot the "star".
If it failed to do something pleased tell me what the failure messages were .

Subject: Re: Help on AIPS {External}
Sir, I have to overlay the radio image (contour) on the optical image (gray scale in the background). I have done that using the optical SDSS/DSS data. But the problem is that in the final image, the optical host is not properly visible. So, I need to mark the optical host position by a circle or something else.
However, I am unable to produce the plot using the Pan-STARRS images as the optical image. I have tried using the OHGEO or HGEOM, but it failed to do so. If I use the Pan-STARRS instead of the SDSS or DSS, then the optical host might have a better visibility.
I have attached an image with this email, where I would like to add a circle at the optical centre (lets say at the centre of the sample image).
Kindly help in this regard.

It depends a bit on what you need to do. The task STARS will let you prepare a ST table with "star" coordinates and type. Then AIPS contour tasks allow you to plot the "stars" on the contour image. Alternatively, LWPLA makes a
very straightforward PostScript text file which you can edit to add anything you like. See the help file called POSTSCRIPT. Circles are perhaps done best by the STARS route, simpler things like plus signs are easy to just add to the PostScript file. Note that I always edit the PostScript if only to clean up the labeling.

Respected Sir,
Kindly help me to draw mark at a particular region with circle or place any mark in anywhere in the contour image in AIPS, as given in the attached example image figure.
