[daip] Issue with AIPS_ROOT is not a directory for 31DEC23 {External}

Hi,

I am facing issues while installing the AIPS 31DEC23 binary installation.

Issue-1:

I am installing the AIPS in my system in the following way,

In my system (say SYSA), I do not have FTP connection access, so I install
the AIPS in a system where I have FTP access (say SYSB). Then I
transferred the Folder to SYSA and installed the AIPS with the command
"perl install.pl -n".

The installation is finished without any issues (except the ftp
connection). However, when I run the command "aips", it shows me that
AIPS_ROOT is not a directory. However, doing ". LOGIN.SH" and echoing
$AIPS_ROOT shows the director properly. I have also tried to manually
export AIPS_ROOT and associated sh files. But the problem remains the
same. The OS of my system is RHEL and gcc version is 8.5.0



Issue-2:


Another issue is that, after initiating LOGIN.SH, I have trouble opening
emacs. I am getting the following error message,

"emacs:
/home/abhijitk/Softwares/AIPS/AIPS_31DEC23/31DEC23/LNX64/LIBR/INTELCMP/libgcc_s.so.1:
version `GCC_7.0.0' not found (required by
/lib64/libwebkit2gtk-4.0.so.37)"


Kindly, help me where I am doing wrong.
