[daip] Weird AIPS installation corruption {External}

Hi,
I have got 2 independent AIPS installations (Linux) which seem to have developed exactly the same problem.
When I “source” LOGIN.SH, the PATH changes (I assume) are changing linked libraries in a way that NOTHING works. This corrupts system tools, not AIPS (well maybe AIPS also, but cannot do anything when I get to this state).
E.g:
cetus:/nfs/AIPS$ source LOGIN.SH
sed: relocation error: /nfs/AIPS/31DEC22/LNX64/LIBR/INTELCMP/libc.so.6: symbol _dl_starting_up version GLIBC_PRIVATE not defined in file ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 with link time reference
II’m not sure how to debug, given once I have sourced the login file nothing works.
I am trying a complete reinstall on one machine but seem to have stuffed that up entirely (install.pl works OK, but cannot get AIPS to run afterward - this is a different problem that above. I suspect finger trouble and need to figure out how to totally clean up the system.
Is this a problem one you have seen before. I can force a reinstall on all my machines, but it would be good to understand why this happened before a nuclear approach.
Thanks
Chris
