Dear Colleagues,
Reducing the Bk224C L-band experiment performed with the PFB firmware,
I follow the novel amplitude calibration procedure presented in Memo #37
by Craig Walker. As suggested, I use the full width to calibrate bandpass
with BPASS setting
BPASSPRM(10) 6
I also set ICHANSEL 1,64,1,0 to use all the channels, though it seems like
BPASSPRM(10) 6 is enough for that.
My question is re. the same verb ICHANSEL in the next step, the task ACSCL.
Surprisingly, there is no recommendation on that in the Memo.
Do I have to set it ICHANSEL 1,64,1,0 [to work with the full band]? By
default
it is set as 0 using 75% central channels if VLBAAMP is run. The reason I
ask this question is the difference in flux scales at a level of ~5%
between these
options (lower flux densities for the full width option in ACSCL).
I would also appreciate any comments re. DOBAND parameter in ACSCL.
Any recommendations? There are 5 options available. Currently, I use DOBAND
1.
Best Regards,
Alexander
