I would suggest hand typing a HOSTS.LIST file.  The format is fussy
use the example I sent you but change the host name to LOCALHOST and the
site to JEEINKIM.  Then try the LOGIN.SH again.

I could not read the screen shot and I am not sure what I should see.
Normally a user makes AIPS_ROOT be a directory below their home,
e.g. ~egreisen/AIPS.  Then from that directory one can
"/bin/rm" -rF 21DEC18
for example.

HOWEVER, you wrote me that there are 7000 files in your 
$AIPS_ROOT/31DEC20/APL/SUB.
YOU SHOULD NOT DELETE THESE UNTIL YOU TELL ME WHAT THEY ARE.  The 
correct number
is about 516.  In your latest attempt did the rsync download numerous 
files to
all the many directories that AIPS uses?

I do not understand what you have there and so do not know what could 
possibly be
going wrong.  No one else has had this trouble.  NOte that I am asking 
only about the
one APL/SUB directory.
