[daip] ALMA Image Cleaning

Dear AIPS group,

My name is Marcus Keil and I'm currently a PhD student at the University College London working with a European Training Network called ACO. A project that was proposed to me, was the idea of creating a machine learning algorithm that performed cleaning of maps from ALMA data in a similar fashion to Tclean, but without user interaction. Simply supply the image and the algorithm will clean it. I was curious, is such an algorithm currently being worked on by any members that you are aware of?

I'm currently trying to find out if it would be possible but more importantly if it has already been done in the past. I couldn't find any publications in my initial searches which is why I decided to turn directly to you at AIPS.
