Are you running SPLAT on the output of BDF2AIPS directly?  You message suggests you have multiple files - how does that happen?  The SPLAT messages you sent say that there is no NX table while t=your text says that NX is on both types of data sets.  I am therefore confused.  SPLAT has 2 modes - in one it writes a multi-source file with all the usual tables copied and in the other it acts like SPLIT and drops a bunch of tables.  I need to understand better what ou have done.
