Dear Eric, 
I am running AIPS on a local server (in University of Oxford, UK).I'm getting an error at start-up, which other users have seen in the past (but, as far as i understand, on the Socorro server). The message is the following:

START_AIPS: Starting TV servers on localhost asynchronously
START_AIPS:  - WITH Unix Sockets as requested...
START_AIPS: Starting TPMON daemons on LOCALHOST asynchronously...
Starting up 31DEC20 AIPS with normal priority
DADEVS.PL: This program is untested under Perl version 5.026
Begin the one true AIPS number 2 (release of 31DEC20) at priority =   0 
AIPS 2: You are not on a local TV device, welcome stranger

After which I can provide user ID number, and I can apparently use AIPS normally. However, I don't want to run into permissions problems later, so I'm awriting to try and fix this.
The bit that worries me is the following: 
ZMSGER: ON FILE DA01:MSD001000.001;                             
 ZMSGER: IN ZDAOPN ERRNO = 13 (Permission denied)
MSGWRT ERROR      6 AT OPEN                                             

which, based on an answer you gave to somebody getting the same problem, is related to the fact that the account I am using is not in the aipsuser group. Now, the question is: what do I tell to my IT guy to help him fix this?
