Dear Aips staff,

I'm a Japanese student learning astronomy.
I 'm trouble with starting aips. Could you give me some advice?
I tried to start aips but the error occurred 'AIPS TV Shared memory id failure: Invalid argument' and the tv didn't come.
So I looked for solution and I found the same error 'https://listmgr.nrao.edu/pipermail/daip/2014-June/020373.html'

I tried to follow this solution but It didn't work.
Concretely, I changed kern.sysv.shmmax=10485760 to 16777216, re-boot the computer after creating the /etc/sysctl.conf file with 16777216 value for shmmax, and typed sysctl kern.sysv. Then, I also checked by sysctl kern.sysv. The result is listed as below

kern.sysv.shmmax: 16777216
kern.sysv.shmmin: 1
kern.sysv.shmmni: 32
kern.sysv.shmseg: 8
kern.sysv.shmall: 4096
kern.sysv.semmni: 87381
kern.sysv.semmns: 87381
kern.sysv.semmnu: 87381
kern.sysv.semmsl: 87381
kern.sysv.semume: 10

I use Mac os High Sierra version 10.13.3.
Please give me some advise.

Sincerely,
Shuichiro Tsuda
