In terms of versions, 31DEC17 (and 18) have stuff to do VLBAcalibrations with the pulse-cal tables which can be (but aren'tyet) written with standard FITS-IDI data files.  That isprobably the main difference - see the AIPSLetters atwww.aips.nrao.eduEric Greisen
