Running TYAPL to apply the post-detector gains is simple and does not sufferfrom all the issues you have found in the Psum, Pdif (or Psys) values.  Thiscorrects for any abrupt hardware gain changes made but does not calibratethe amplitudes or weights.  The plots you have made suggest that trying todo that (TYAPL not with PGN) is probably a bad idea.  Using TYAPL at highfrequencies works pretty well with little TYSMO or other editing but L bandand P band are probably a lost cause.  Note that one still has to run CALIBto get the gains since we do not know the Tcals and efficiencies well enoughso there is not much lost. The CookBook Appendix L (on low band data) does not recommend TYAPL exceptfor PGN.Eric Greisen
