Hi Trisha,The most important thing to transfer is your data of course, the rest you could reconstruct by installing AIPS on your new machine.  The data is in your DATA area.  This is usually in an area called something like ".../AIPS/DATA/LOCALHOST_1"  and contains files look something like UVD05N001.00N; (an example of a UV data file).  When I changed Mac laptops I had to rsync my data areas, time machine wouldn't copy them.  After that you could rsync the entire AIPS area which might mean you wouldn't have to reinstall AIPS, although if you have a different version of the OS this might be necessary anyway.  If you had to reinstall AIPS you would just have make sure the copied data area is in the AIPS/DA00/DADEVS.LIST file.  You could copy the DA00 area completely which does contain some of the customization for your install (including the DADEVS.LIST).Hope this helps,Amy
