Where are you located, what version of AIPS are you using,what computer architecture.  Can you send me the output ofthe verb IMHEAD on your UV data set, and of the verb FREESP?Are your disks local to your computer or are you reading themover the network?  Try the task PRTUV with DOCRT=1.  That shouldstart fast and show you things quickly...Eric Greisen
