On yosemite the /tmp files are of the form

XAS.1..private.tmp.com.apple.launchd.  and some more mess
with others for LOK, MSS, and TKS

If these do not appear then the sockets have not been made.
You could add the aips socket names to /etc/services and try
the inet ones.
