I tried that already, looking at previous discussions, but it did not help. As a result, I get the same error in the shell, and a new one in the messenger: "BEAM HISTOGRAM PATHOLOGICAL - DEALING WITH IT"

The TV itself works, e.g. I can run UVPLT without problems. In the end I switched back to Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, and the problem disappeared..
