Thanks for the information. AIPS now works if I do aips tv=local:F, with some of the same errors as before but at least the TV and message server launch and seem to work fine.

I couldn't figure out how to kill those processes - I tried "ps" and could not see them. I can do more investigating but if you have any suggestions that would be great.
