Hi Eric,

I wanted to follow up on this email because despite trying various simplified versions of my data reduction, I'm still not able to get SCMAP to work with my data. I can successfully self-cal the data using IMAGR and CALIB but like I've mentioned previously, I can't get the same results using SCMAP with the same input parameters as I used for IMAGR/CALIB. I've attached a calibrated and split fits file of on of my sources that I've tried to run SCMAP on. I also attached the reduction log used to create the fits file if that's helpful (the .txt file). To remove all extra factors that might be throwing off SCMAP, I did a much more basic data reduction than I'd typically do on a source. The reduction was nearly identical to one of Amy's VLBA tutorials: http://www.aoc.nrao.edu/~amiodusz/sumschool14/vlbaspectut_gen.shtml I did through step 12, skipping the smoothing to remove another factor, and then split off the data. For the splitting I used aparm 2 0 0 1 1 1 to make the self-cal go a little faster.

I'd really appreciate any additional insight you might have on this issue. Like I mentioned previously, I really need some way to automate self-cal because it would be too time consuming to do by hand for all of my data.

Thanks!
Alex Truebenbach
