Try my suggestion - if your initial cube has N channels and you wish to drop e.g. channels 10-20
run SUBIM with blc 0 0 1; trc 0 0 9 and then run it with blc 0 0 21; trc 0 to make 2 files of the same 
name and consecutive seq numbers.  Then point MCUBE at the first cube and set IN2SEQ to 2.
set NPOINTS to N.  It will make a cube with a regularly gridded axis 3 on the grid size of the
initial cube.  It will find no data for frequencies/velocities corresponding to channels 10-20 
and so will blank those planes.  MCUBE will not make a cube with an irregular freq/velo axis
(FQUBE can do that although it will retain the freq/velocity info in the FQ table).
