"Sadly", I tried SCMAP on a couple of data sets and it worked well.  In fact
I did not know about the automatic setting of uv range since I think I never
noticed it doing that with my data.  I do not know what to suggest - I could
take your data set and run it to see if I get the same failure and then find
why all data are rejected by UVGET (the basic fetch data routine that does
apply flags, uv-range, and many more adverbs all of which should be null
at the stage SCMAP reached).  I suspect that this is not of sufficient
importance to you to bother esp since I will be away after tomorrow until
27 April.  My general attitude is that CALIB/IMAGR are best but SCMAP 
sometimes works even better and sometimes not.
