It seems to have decided that the machine is named LOCAL
not LOCALHOST.  I doubt that the former is defined.  I do not
have any idea how this could happen.  Check the
$AIPS_ROOT/HOSTS.LIST file for starters and do 
"echo $HOST"

BTW - your solution to the earlier problem has already helped
another user.
