When aips starts up it says where it gets its "dadevs" information.
On your machine it should say

  (Using VLITE-NRL-specific file /home/AIPS/DA00/VLITE-NRL/DADEVS.LIST for DADEVS.PL)
   Disk 1 (1) is /data/AIPS/VLITE-NRL_1/
