/data is a file system on vlite-nrl.

/data/AIPS/VLITE-NRL_1 is a folder on that file system.  It is not a link file.

If you are logged into vlite-nrl and are seeing hamal, then you must have
some sort of dadevs file that is over-riding what the system is supposed to
do.  I did not see such a thing in your area but that doesn't prove much.

I see some UV data files belonging to user 1010 from September 9 and 10
in this data area owned by you.  So you must be using it.

vlite-nrl.evla.nrao.edu<139>$ df .

This is like 115 terabytes.

Any user of aips must be in the aipsuser group.  perhaps this vlitenrl account
was not set up properly.  It need only be a secondary group, not the primary
one.  Say "groups" when logged in to see what the groups are.  I can't do that.
