I am attempting to process an old VLA L-band dataset from project AG230. I use AIPS version 31DEC13, which I have recently used on even older data without any problems. This particular dataset is read into AIPS using FILLM, generating the channel-0 and line data as expected. I run SETJY, and then want to run VLACALIB. However, this fails with the following message:
CALIB1 10:06:33 Task CALIB (release of 31DEC13) begins
CALIB1 10:06:33 Using 19861211 . CH 0 . 1 Disk= 1 Usid= 130
CALIB1 10:06:33 FQMATC: Setting FQ id number = 1
CALIB1 10:06:33 UVGET: Using flag table version 1 to edit data
CALIB1 10:06:33 Purports to die of UNNATURAL causes
CALIB1 10:06:33 localhost 31DEC13 TST: Cpu= 0.0 Real= 0
AIPS 1 10:06:33 Resumes
AIPS 1 10:06:33 RETURN CODE -1 RECEIVED: STOPPING

Since the failure seems to occur right after the flagging step, I tried to run it with and without an FG table present in the data, but that made no difference. Is there any way to figure out why this error occurs? Attached is the printout from PRTMSG.

System details:
Mac OS 10.8.5
XQuartz 2.7.6
iTerm 1.0.0.20130622
AIPS 31DEC13

Cheers,
Ilse
