One more thing with XGAUS. I thought I had tested DOOUTPUT=1 after your earlier fix, but apparently not. 
It is now giving me a new error. This occurs both when DOOUTPUT=1 in the input file and when it is selected from the TV at the end of the fitting:

> XGAUS1: Destroyed MA image file: catno=    241 disk= 3
> XGAUS1: Purports to die of UNNATURAL causes
