SPECR does not interpolate or extrapolate in the sense
you are thinking.  It uses FFTs like CVEL to do its thing.

Thus it does much better with real data than your artificial
stuff.  Do you want a simple interpolation/extrapolation
routine in addition to the algorithm currently offered.?
