I'm sorry to be so tardy in replying - I have no great ideas.

CALIB needs to have solutions for all IFs.  But then you could use CLCOP
to take the solution from IF N and apply it to IFs 1-N-1,, and N+1 - M in one
execution of CLCOP.  (OPTYPE='AVER').  If necessary to take R polarization
and apply to L or vice versa, one more execution of CLCOP with 'R2L' or 'L2R'
and INVERS=0.  After you fix up the SN then run CLCAL.

SNP2D is what is really intended to handle your problem.  If the phase at the
maser line is due to a delay - and many experienced folks here believe that
all phases are really delays - then the correct phase to apply at other widely
separated frequencies (EVLA) would be via delays (phase changes with
frequency linearly) rather than simply copying phases.
