New Staff Reply: AIPS EDITR not subtracting running average?

It would be a VERY bad thing for an editor task to show
you modified data rather than the real data unless you
specifically ask for it.  EDITR has the option to
vector difference the local visibility with the vector
mean of the time window surrounding the sample and then
to display the amplitude of that difference.  This takes
very special extra software to generate whenever the user
asks for such a display and I have never written other
extra routines to do simple phase differences. 

Therefore EDITR never has done what you think it was doing.
Perhaps you data are not well calibrated this time or perhaps
the structure of the source causes well calibrated phases
quite different from zero.
