New Staff Reply: Loading AIPS data in a different computer

What you should do now depends on what you saved in the
AIPS_datadisk folder. We would advise you to save FITS files
which you write with FITTP or FITAB. I suspect from the name
that you did not do this, but instead kept the raw AIPS
binary files from your data area. In that case, you should
simple make that folder an new additional data area available to
your aips. The file $AIPS_ROOT/DA00/DADEVS.LIST is usually used
for this purpose. My disk is listed in our DADEVS.LIST as

- /DATA/PRIMATE_1
- /DATA/PRIMATE_2
- /DATA/PRIMATE_3
- /DATA/PRIMATE_4
- /DATA/PRIMATE_5

Note the minus sign followed by 2 blanks. If the old data folder
path does not contain the name of the new computer, replace the
minus sign with a plus sign.

Let me know how this goes and of course any further questions..
