New Staff Reply: SOUINI / SUREFM error in 31DEC12 AIPS

Yes - I notice that SUREFM has a couple of places where
it depends on lower level routines to print an error message.
You could try editing it to put out a message everywhere that IRET
could be set.  Also comment out the MSGSUP lines.  Then rebuild
a task or two with the new routine to see if you learn anything.

It works for us including with an old g77.
