The LOK file is correct for the lock daemon that controls the TV and the 
absence of ones for TEK and MSG is explained below.  The lack of an XAS 
one bothers me.

There is no message from XAS at all?  This is odd - it issues lots of 
messages even when it fails.

Can you send us the outputs of

ls /usr/bin/*term*
ps -u `whoami`

It is possible that xterm is an optional feature when you build the OS 
and it could be included later...
