New Ticket: Cookbook Sect. E.4 - Use of SOUSP & CLCAL

Hello,

I've questions about the task SOUSP. In order to fit the spectral index of the calibrator, several values of (Flux, Freq) are required, otherwise lack of degree of freedom would occur. However, how to obtain the information for (Flux, Freq) if only one frequency is observed?

Also, are there any special considerations for the smoothing function and the supporting time in CLCAL for EVLA data? Or one could basically follow the comments in Sect. 4.5.3?

And if I understand correctly, after the first pass of calibration described in Sect. E.4, and before proceeding to Sect. E.7 or later, one should (1) perform detailed flagging and then (2) delete all SN tables except version 1; (3) redo BPASS, CALIB, GETJY and CLCAL (with smoothing applied) . Is this the correct approach?

Thank you very much!
