New Staff Reply: JMFIT source code

Every installed AIPS has all of the source code.  Finding things
is the problem.

cd $AIPS_ROOT
source LOGIN.CSH         (or . LOGIN.SH for bash shells)
$CDTST

Now you have a bunch of logicals, an enhanced $PATH, etc

SUB XXX         finds subroutine XXX
PROG XXX        finds task XXX

JMFIT is in $APGNOT, all help files are in $HLPFIL
JMFIT will use subroutines in $APLSUB and $APLNOT as
well as ones starting with Z which are system dependent.

The manual GOING AIPS is old but still mostly right.
The area $AIPSPUBL contains the CookBook chapters as
COOKn.PS and Going AIPS as CHAPn.PS where n is the chapter 
number.

This should be way more than you want...
