The point is to keep the line and continuum data in parallel.  It is 
best not to apply vlant corrections or any other in avspc since you have 
not done the same with the line data set (you could with splat of 
course).  The vlant corrections can be applied with docal in all 
programs you are likely to run on the channel 0.

BUT - for the problem to which you allude - take a look at FXALIAS a run 
file and proc that I wrote which attempts to deal with this.  Also look 
at memos by Gustaaf which should be accessible from the web sites 
maintained by him.
