New Staff Reply: Problems with Oxford tutorial

I am going to attempt to help you with this but this
tutorial is a product of Oxford and you should be asking
for help from folks there.

UVPLT was changed in 2006 to plot u oppositely from other
axis types. If you set BPARM(1) or BPARM(2) to -n, then the
axis will be reversed (as stated in the help file).

The header status is sometimes left in READ or WRIT when
something goes wrong. UCAT or MCAT will show this status
at the right. If the status is wrong (no tasks running
now on that data file), it may be cleared with the verb
CLRSTAT.

It appears that you have asked VPLOT for a fixed plot range
(bparm(3) NOT SERO) so the column of points for the calibrator
scans is compressed into roughly a single X. Note that the
data set probably includes a calibrator other than 1331+305
and their tutorial is likely to ask for 2 calibrators in the
plot via SOURCES or CALCODE.

The header status is designed to prevent one task from writing
on the header when another task is using it. You must CLRSTAT
to create a flag table (QUACK) or update the source table (SETJY).
