IMAGR is still useful but there does seem to be a push to add capability
for various calibrations - e.g. direction dependent SN tables, beam 
squint (really only VLA), more complex beam pattern info, etc. - which 
IMAGR does not now do.  There is also a push to include spectral index 
imaging in the process.  IMAGR's current capability there is quite 
limited - I will see if Urvashi's work produces something that looks 
like it could be copied or adapted.

In the long run, a package like casa may be necessary but they have not 
demonstrated it.  The enhancements do seem to be more 
instrument-specific too so LOFAR may well have its own needs.  Perhaps 
Bill Cotton's OBIT is a good compromise with a parseltongue front-end, 
aips compatibility, and already direction-dependent SN tables, etc.
