I have adjusted some system files so that VLANT will be compiled without 
optimization on MACINTs even though it works fine on ours.  If you run 
the MNJ ($HOME/do_daily.<hostname>) tomorrow, you should get a new 
executable which will lack optimization.  Please try that out.
