Yes - but you will discover I think that your architecture is now called
MACINT not MACPPC. If it is not then something bad has happened in the
install - perhaps because of an old $AIPS_ROOT/HOSTS.LIST or old
$HOME/.AIPSRC file.

cd $AIPS_ROOT
source LOGIN.CSH (or . LOGIN.SH for bash shells)
echo $ARCH
echo $HOST
echo $SITE

If things have gone wrong (and I am suspicious) then I suspect that you
should
1. Move your current data to directory names not involved with the new
  aips

2. cd $AIPS_ROOT
     rm -rf 31DEC08/
edit HOSTS.LIST to change the architecture from MACPPC to MACINT
edit $HOME/.AIPSRC to fix the architecture
     do a new perl install.pl -n
make new empty data areas matching the number of old data areas you had

3. do the above source and echo commands to check, then
     RUN REBYTE
to convert the old data areas into the new ones.

Note that the 31DEC04 version is no longer of any use.
