Wow.

Are you sure the catalog for user 1000 is empty?  Check the adverbs to 
MCAT and UCAT (USERID must be 0 or 1000 for example).

If it is empty, exit aips which should delete the empty CA file.

Then RUN RECAT and answer the questions doing user 1000.
