[daip] connection timeout rsync

Dear AIPS helpdesk,

I am trying to install AIPS 31DEC08 on a MacInt laptop using the  
binary approach. The rsync procedure fails to connect:
error in socket IO (code 10).

I tried to rsync ftp.aoc.nrao.edu from another machine at another  
location (where I managed to install AIPS in the past), and I get the  
same problem.

Do you have any idea how to resolve the problem?
