[daip] Installation problems

The X11 compilation assumes that the X11 includes are "located" in the 
standard /usr/include area in a subdirectory names X11.  In fact, 
normally X11 is a link file e.g. X11 -> ../X11R6/include/X11/
where the necessary files are found.  Note that this is usually set up 
when one installs the rpm for "XWindows Developer".  Similarly ncurses 
is installed from the rpm for ncurses developer.

I have left some of my previous remarks above since I believe that they 
are relevant.
