[daip] renaming a machine

Hello.  I was recently forced to rename the machine hosting AIPS
around here, and everything seems to have broken.  I guess that
names of things like data directories are all hard-coded at the
time of the initial installation.  I started trying to track all
these down but it's a hopeless task.  Is there a way to salvage
this, or do I need to do a complete reinstall (I hope not)?
