[daip] aips on linux/amd64, multihost site

Linux on sparc - curious that we have not encountered that.  We have
encountered people trying to use gnu compilers under Solaris.  I
suspect AIPS does not do the former (although it could) and is awkward
but would do the latter.  I still push binary distributions.

gfortran 4.2.1 works well and the Intel compilers are pretty good for
Intel chips.
