Subject: Re: Upadates of FITLD/SPLAT?

Hi Eric,

thanks for the info on the updates on FITLD and SPLAT.
I did further tests on the dataset, in particular I tried to upload the
data with FITLD running both the 31DEC06 and the 31DEC07 AIPS versions
and I had the same problem. So, I found out that the problem was not due
to FITLD!
I uploaded the data from
the archive, concatenating progressively the data from different
scans, and doing that, I realized that the problem arose adding the data
of a specific scan. Editing the data as a function of time (averaging on
spectral channels), I did not
notice previously any dramatic problem in that scan.
However, looking at the data as a function of time for single channels in
TVFLG I evidenced some bad data in some channels not seen before, which
might have affected data in IF2.

So, in conclusion no problem from FITLD or SPLAT. Sorry for bothering you
on that.

Best,
Ciriaco
