Hi Eric,
This is a follow-up to the bandpass question I asked you recently. We have
our instrument data formatted into FITS-IDI and would like to have a
bandpass attached to the data in the early stages to allow us the most
flexibility possible with understanding the data. There is a fixed
bandpass function that is generated by the filters in place and so we can
generate that to make a bandpass table. I have tried the trick you mention
of taking a BP from a normal uvfits data set and attaching that to the
FITS-IDI data set. This seems to work, it loads a BP table and the amps
and structure look good. There are some messages generated that I'd like
to understand a bit better. I attach below the output of FITLD on the
FITS-IDI data file after I have attached the BP table to it. Before
attaching the table the file loads without and of the extra messages. I'm
not sure what the source of the messages is. I ran a UVDIF and the data
all checks out ok. I have checked the two fits tables before loading them
and the columns of the FQ and SU table are identical. After loading the
file with the BP attached 'loses' some of the entries in these tables.
I've been looking at the FITLD code but can't really see where this issue
is originating. I'd appreciate any insight you have on this. Cheers,
