     I mis-remembered the names - in /tmp there should be for
tv=local:1 on primate

LOK.1.primate=
MSS.1.primate=
TKS.1.primate=
XAS.1.primate=

are these there?

You could copy $SYSUNIX/UNIXSERVERS to $SYSLOCAL and then edit it to
add progress messages to make sure it gets to

# No '#' chars in title string!
      ( cd $LOAD; ./XAS$TVN -display $DISPLAY \
        -t "X-AIPS tv Screen Server 98 - UNIX $TVN" \
        -n "AIPS98-U-$TVN" & )

I would add an

echo "Hello $TVN"; ls -laF XAS* ;

after the cd $LOAD; ahead of the ./XASetc

I am flumoxed why XAS which is very verbal while starting does not say
something.
