daip as in daip at nrao.edu is the official way to talk to the aips group
for at least 15 years now.  It is a mail exploder that goes to all
interested parties including Wes Young and Pat Murphy.  You are in
some system areas that I know very little about.

It remains extremely strange that IMLOD and FITLD should have
different problems (IMLOD finds the file but cannot non-blocking lock
it while FITLD does not find the file).  

I suppose I should have asked whether your laptop is a Mac or a LInux
box.
