Hi there,

wow, I'm really annoying with all these questions eh?? Sorry about that, I am
an undergraduate student on a coop work term here in Mexico getting some real
experience with astronomy research. I am reading the AIPS manual and help files
looking for my answers before I bother you guys with my questions but I keep
running into things I cant solve by reading help or explain files. I really
appriciate your assistance in making this a successful work term for me, this is
helping me get a good grasp on the AIPS task's to work with radio telescope
data.

What I am trying to do is FFT the single-dish data I have to the UV domain to
compare it to my interferometer UV data by plotting them as Amplitude Vs
Baselength. With these plots I will compare the amplitudes of the two UV sets
in the 'overlap region' to determine a scaling factor. Then I can scale, add
the two in the UV domain and FFT(inverse) back to the image plane for a final
image for analysis by my supervisor so he can write a paper for Astronomy
Journal or another journal.

I have used FFT but I have problems with it. First of all it makes map files
of the UV data not UV files to be plotted in UVPLT. Is there a way I can plot
amplitude Vs baselength for these map files of the UV data from FFT??

 Have a great day,
 Thanks again,

 Kyle Mede
