Here is some information about my FITLD failure on March 21, 2006 using
AOC TST version of AIPS. I am working with two files from a single
sequence of a VLBA correlation:

/home/parallax2/big/incoming/59200001.FITS
/home/parallax2/big/incoming/59210001.FITS

I individually loaded these onto my computer 'parallax',
user 2179, disk 5, slots 5 and 6

Inputs to FITLD below. These are the same inputs I've been using for
years in my pulsar processing.

FITLD from 'TST' won't concatennate these. 'NEW' concatennated the
files with no problem. That output file is called BB213C.NORM.1,
slot number 1 on disk 5, parallax, user 2179.

The failure message is:

FITLD1: Data with weight < 0.20 will be permanently flagged
FITLD1: UVCREA: DUPLICATE NAME BB213C .NORM . 1
FITLD1: BTRTAB: COULD NOT FIND OR CREATE UV FILE FOR TABLES
FITLD1: ERROR 2 RETURNED FROM BTRTAB
FITLD1: Purports to die of UNNATURAL causes
FITLD1: parallax 31DEC06 TST: Cpu= 0.0 Real= 0
AIPS 1: Resumes

One possible hint : I observed with PCALs turned off. Hence the PC table
won't get PC values, but should still contain the Cable Cal values.

Since I could load the data with 'NEW' my testing of VBMRG for
Jon Romney can proceed. Let me know what I can provide to make
debugging easier.
