Just to add more detail to what Eric said (since I changed the tables 
part) the old VBGLU tried to do the minimum of comparisons and ended up 
not merging the tables correctly.  I changed it so it does all the 
comparisons, so it is much slower but works.  But if it takes a few 
hours to merge the tables, that is obviously not acceptable.  I will see 
what I can do to speed it up.
