Dear Eric

Thanks for the hint. tv=local is MUCH better - in fact I can see no subjective
difference from the performance under RH9, at least in a few minutes playing
around. [My machine is a Dell 1.7GHz laptop].

On some of the newer machines at Jodrell Bank, there is apparently a problem
with the TV "slowing up" after some number of operations. I'll watch out for
this and let you know if anything similar happens to me.

So far so good.
